Cracks in their crumbling marriage are already beginning to show and Felicity confides as much to her friend Jo, the local butcher's assistant. Upset by Jo’s kind words, Felicity emotionally reveals that only the death of Ken would rid her of her unhappiness.

Meanwhile in the Hamilton Arms landlady Vi is moaning about the yuppie invasion to Mr Morrissey the butcher and tells her put upon son Russ that she doesn't want him going to the party. However, he has other plans.

Not enjoying the party is neighbour Nancy who wakes up bemused husband Sid and kicks him out of bed demanding he goes next door and complains.
